My love for flowers is neither personal nor private; I’ve made it public business. Today, at the store, I saw a man buy fresh flowers for who I assumed was a lady. Not just flowers, TULIPS! Not just tulips, the tulips were CLOSED- by this I mean the flower heads were closed.
Some minor details that people miss: Maybe you didn’t know this but cut flowers open up gradually after harvesting as time goes, hence why we put them in a vase. We call this vase-life. Meaning this man bought the flowers in advance, with this knowledge in mind so that by the time valentine’s comes- 3 days later, they’ll have opened up beautifully and both, but mostly the lady will enjoy flowers, and for a longer period as opposed to if he’d bought them already opened up.
Going back to the tulips. I must say I love roses, trust me bro, but boy, have we overused them! There’re uncountable varieties of flowers out here. Even in the wild. My very unsolicited advice for this Val’s, try a different variety and thank me later 😉. And, for Pete’s sake, my ladies, please buy a vase or improvise. How will he buy you flowers, yet you don’t even own a vase? Where will you put them? Also, it will motivate you to buy some for yourselves.
I don’t know if the lady who was receiving the tulips understands flower cut stages or not. I just imagine that she’ll smile because my toothy smile couldn’t be contained standing behind the guy, yet I didn’t even know him. It could also be the poor guy had no idea and just picked some tulips randomly as they were available, as they were. Nevertheless… the more you know.
Happy Valentine’s in advance loves. 😘
