August is my month of gratitude. This post is inspired by a very real gentleman and it’s dedicated to any gentleman out there.
The word gentle has it’s roots in the Latin gentilis simply meaning belonging to the same clan, race etc., so in this sense all men are gentlemen’ somehow. The term obviously evolved to include the concept of behaviour like chivalry, courtesy, honour; and became associated with nobility and social status in England; because, why not? If you’re a Christian, you obviously get your concept of ‘gentleman’ from the gentle shepherd-king, right? With all that in mind, personally I know a gentleman by how much of a girl I feel.
Dear sir,
My aim for writing to you is to simply say I see you and I’m grateful.
I see how you quietly draw out plans, thinking your being secretive
I saw how you keenly guided me, literally, because you know this girl got no compass
I appreciate your zeal, sometimes fruitless, to try make me smile
When you wiped my tears, you should know that I’ll cherish that forever
I noticed how you chose to kiss my forehead and made me feel like the princess of Neverland 😉
Woe to them that think gentleness is a placeholder for weakness.
I’ve seen you roar when you sense enemies, but mostly competition 😁
You’ve subtly pulled me closer when you perceive danger
I’ve heard and seen you fiercely defend those you care about and I secretly smile, not so secret anymore now
Most of all, you’ve risked and been fearless to show me the scars gotten from the wars of life
This is for you sir; thanks for with you, I can just be, a girl.
Yours,
Lady.
If you can relate, share with a gentleman; add or take away whatever, only let them know you’re grateful and hug them for me and you 🤗😘
Tell us you relate in the discussion.
If life gives you a coconut, ride to Camelot.

Ah! This is so beautiful. And thank you to the sir 🤗
Thank you goes out to all the sirs.
